COACHING

BXR & EVENTS

Hi, I’m Kate

Since passing my Group Fitness Instructor certification exam in 2017, I have led thousands of individuals in movement with the goal of simultaneously celebrating both where they are and where they are going. I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit, which only grew during the COVID-19 pandemic when I started live streaming classes and cultivating a community of hundreds of individuals across the country in the midst of lockdown. In January of 2022, I started taking online 1:1 fitness and nutrition clients and continuing to build my business while completing my master’s and working as Assistant Director of Fitness at a large university.

By the Fall of 2023, I knew it was time to officially dive full-time into entrepreneurship and The MVMNT was born. The MVMNT is the product of my experiences and observations in the fitness industry over the past 10 years – as a client, coach, and manager.

I’m a follower of Jesus, enneagram 3 wing 2, ice cream connoisseur, and dog mom. I believe in doing both – eating healthy AND indulging in dessert, sometimes enjoying a mocktail AND sometimes a glass of wine, serving 1:1 clients AND my fellow fitness professionals.

I’ve always loved movement.

I took my first group fitness class in middle school, and by high school, you could always find me at kickboxing, dance, or spin after school if I didn’t have a tennis match. I counted down the days to when I’d turn 18 and be eligible to sit for my own group fitness instructor certification exam. My love of movement started from a beautiful place, but somewhere along the way between social media, diet culture, and the unfortunate pressure of being a young girl, things got a little blurry. I started thinking about how to burn every calorie I consumed. So many moments that should’ve been fun and relaxing, I drowned out with negative feelings of guilt and obsession over food and my body.

In 2020, the world shut down and fortunately, I was forced to face the reality I had been creating for myself. It took a high level of self-awareness, vulnerability, and support from a fitness and nutrition coach to rebuild a lifestyle that was healthy, sustainable, and filled with habits that left me energized rather than depleted. Fast forward a couple years and several more credentials, and I began helping clients of various backgrounds and ages implement sustainable lifestyle shifts, improve their relationship with food and their bodies, and reach their desired physiques. I am forever a believer that there is purpose in pain.

Even though I was struggling to love myself, I always loved movement. I started teaching kickboxing as a college freshman, and there wasn’t a format I hadn’t taught by my senior year. Throughout my fitness career, I’ve mentored hundreds of new group fitness instructors and personal trainers and found both a passion and skill for training and development. Over the years, I’ve consistently seen gaps when it comes to instructor community, affordable continuing education, and valuable incentives to maintain speciality certifications. I created The MVMNT as the solution –  The MVMNT is a one-stop-shop for fitness coaching and continuing education. I’ve seen a lot in the fitness industry over the years and my goal is to equip and empower you wherever you are on your fitness journey – personal or career.
